Call for Resolutions: CHNC Annual General Meeting 2024

The Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) will be holding our Annual General Meeting virtually on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Eastern Time. Details to be posted with the agenda at a later date.
Call for Resolutions Please submit any resolutions on or before Sunday, June 16, 2024 by 11:59 pm Eastern Time to the Governance Standing Committee at administration@chnc.ca. Template TITLE OF RESOLUTION: Provide the Title or Issue being addressed SUBMITTED BY: Name(s) of those submitting BE IT RESOLVED: This part of the resolution takes the form of recommendations for actions or a statement of opinions concerning the situation. It may request action on the part of CHNC or in collaboration with other relevant bodies. The recommendations are action oriented and each clause usually addresses no more than one specific aspect of the action to be taken. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: As noted each clause addresses no more than one aspect of the action. If there is more than one point to make each point is presented in separate BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED statements. BACKGROUND: Relevant background information can be included to a maximum of one page, including: • Rationale - explaining the reasons behind the resolution • Relevance - to CHNC’s mission and goals • Key Stakeholders - who would be interested in supporting the resolution • Estimated Resources Required or Expected Outcomes REFERENCES: Include relevant references to support the resolution.

Award of Merit 2023-2024 Call for Nominations
Each year, the Community Health Nurses of Canada offers an Award of Merit to one or more outstanding nurse(s) for their exemplary, visionary contribution to community health nursing.
Why nominate a community health nurse for the Award of Merit?
This is an excellent opportunity to honor nurses and to highlight and celebrate their important contribution to community health nursing. The award winner(s) will be announced during the CHNC National conference.
Call for Nominations:
To be eligible for this award, the community health nurse must be nominated by a current CHNC member.
Eligibility Criteria
♦ The nominees can be active or retired; posthumous nominations are welcome.
♦ The nominees should be a registered nurse or a past registered nurse (if retired)
♦ The nominees do not have to be current members of CHNC.
♦ The nominees should have a minimum of two years of experience as a community health nurse.
♦ The nominees work must be related to community health nursing from a research, education, administration, policy, and/or practice perspective
A completed nomination package should include and be limited to:
· A nomination letter that is not longer than 500 words
· The nomination must have a minimum of one additional supporter who is asked to provide a one-page letter of support as an attachment to the nomination package.
· CVs will not be required or adjudicated.
Deadline for Accepting Nominations is April 2, 2024
Selection Criteria
Nominations are reviewed based on the following criteria:
The nominee’s contributions to community health nursing are outlined in the nomination package showing evidence of, but not limited to, the following:
o leadership
o innovation
o mentorship
o advocacy
o evidence based practice
Nominators are strongly encouraged to use the CHNC Standards of Practice to highlight their nominee.
Nomination packages are accepted in PDF format only.
