The Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) respects the privacy of website visitors. In our efforts to ensure that your privacy is maintained, we have developed this policy to make clear how we collect and use information collected through our website. The following statements summarize CHNC's website privacy policies.
Procedure:
CHNC collects non-identifying information, in aggregate only, for statistical analysis, to help us develop content that responds to the interests of our site visitors such as; which pages are visited most often, how many people visit the site, and how many come back more than once. We do not collect individual personal information through this process.
Personal information
CHNC does not systematically collect any information about the identity of individuals visiting our site. Any personal information we may gather is provided by you on a purely voluntary basis through the completion of registration or application forms. This information is integral to managing a membership-based association including communication with members. Your e-mail address will be used to communicate with you about member related activities and will only be shared with third parties when you have given permission to share your email address.
In some areas of the site, such as our “Resources for Purchase” area, we use online forms that request personal information. The information we collect is only used to fulfil your order or process your request. The CHNC accepts online credit card payments for membership renewals or purchases. Credit card information is not stored in permanent or temporary files or in a database on any CHNC server. Data does not persist on the server for more than a few seconds during transaction processing. We do not make this information available to any third parties.
Members Only
Members of the Community Health Nurse of Canada have access to our online Members Only area. Access is restricted to users with a valid user ID and password.
Links to other sites
The CHNC site may contain links to other sites, including government departments, public institutions and other not-for-profit organizations. When you leave the CHNC site, you are subject to the privacy policies of the next site(s) you visit.
